Is there a German Word for the feeling that comes after taking A Walk™?
I'm trademarking A Walk™ because I think it really is that powerful....
Today I was sitting in the park and my feelings got hurt. Like, there I was lounging on my blanket in the grass and a dog walked over to me to, I’m not entirely sure, I guess sniff and say hi how dogs do that on occasion. The dog owner proceeded to tell the dog, “Leave it! Leave it!!! Stella, leave it!” (Like as a means to get the dog back over to her and AWAY from me.) And …. you guys the way my pronouns are she/ her?) It was just so dehumanizing, as if I was some chicken scrap on the sidewalk that the dog wanted to eat. All I know is, the next time you don’t use proper pronouns, please consider how that can make people feel.
But otherwise, relaxing outside in the park this morning actually cured me of all stressors that have been on my mind— which is so annoying. You know when the advice that people tell you to do to “feel better” at first make you roll your eyes but once you try it you have this realization of, “shoot .. y’all are on to something.” A Walk™ is totally one and ultimately, so is fresh air. I was stressed at work a few days ago and my coworker encouraged me to go for ‘A Walk’ around the block and my reaction was, “As if a walk would do anything right now!” Meanwhile A Walk™ fully reset my soul.
Another piece of advice that is just so obnoxious and condescending to hear is, “well, did you retrace your steps?” In the heat of misplacing something, that’s the last thing I want to hear with a close second being, “did you check your pockets?” Unfortunately, it works EVERY time. Irritates me to no end. In other news, I’ve successfully reacquired all four of my air pods by retracing my steps, and yes CHECKING EVERY POCKET! I didn’t even have to pray to Saint Anthony!
Here is a small list of other infuriating yet ultimately helpful things to hear:
“Did you make sure it’s plugged in?”
“Try turning if off and back on again.”
“Did you double check?”
“Is it charged?”
“Did you drink water?”
“Take a breath.”
“Write it down so you don’t forget.”
“Sleep on it.”
Let me know your favorite LEAST favorite things to hear in the comments!!

P.s. I know it’s been a while since we last talked but you can all play catch up and listen to the antics on the podcast, think of it as me reading out loud to you.
All LOVE! I’ll be better about writing home xoxo
How are you? … Living the dream. The sarcastic phase drives your dad nuts
The Return 🙌 Alright, so I don't like when someone tells you how to do something or use something that is obvious (could be in the form of a question). An example could be if you bought someone a smart phone and then said stuff along the lines of "now you know you can use this to text, call, blank, etc...?" There's probably others that I'm not thinking of, but it just irks me when they ask a question like "did you know ____?", when the knowing is directly linked to having the basic knowledge of the item or situation lol. Doesn't add anything and just feels infantilizing. (Extra: you're at the beach enjoying the day and someone says "hey did you know that you could go swimming if you want to?", like yes, I understood that I could thanks for telling me though I guess lol)
